2010 Players of the Week

Nov 19th Players of the Week

Glass Doctor Offensive Players - #9 Brandon Burke / #34 Spencer Pullen - Two Eagles' seniors ended their Niceville football careers on high notes. Despite playing with an illness, Burke was fantastic, and focused, catching five passes for 188 yards, including a key 37-yard grab that set up Niceville's touchdown late in the second quarter. The hard-driving Pullen led all Niceville ground gainers, picking up 56 yards in the game and averaging almost six yards per carry against a tough, physical Raiders defense.

Niceville Insurance Agency Defensive Player - #27 Malik Williams  - The junior was a field leader in the Eagles secondary, initiating numerous hard tackles.

Accent Signs Rising Eagle - #1 Terrell Nichols - The junior wide receiver hauled in four passes for 85 yards, in key game situations, and demonstrated toughness taking hard hits, and bouncing right back.

Twin Cities Hospital Scholar-Athlete of the Week - #44 Dylan Detiege -  A hard worker on and off the field, and a solid student in the classroom as well.

Nov 5th Players of the Week

Glass Doctor Offensive Players - #8 Jon Hudson / #11 Kyle McDorman - The diminutive Hudson put two big scores on the board - the first on a 26 yard pass from his senior quarterback, and the second, game winning score on a bruising 20 yard run with 5:33 left in the fourth quarter. McDorman was truly the Eagles' team leader, passing and running the ball on offense, playing stellar defense, making numerous tackles in the Eagles' secondary, and serving well as the long-snapper on punts.

Niceville Insurance Agency Defensive Player - #2 Colby Billings - The solid sophomore played yet another solid game, initiating and assisting on numerous tackles.

Accent Signs Rising Eagle - #37 Mikel Belcher - The tight end was instrumental in the Eagles third quarter comeback against the Bulldogs, snaring a McDorman pass and rumbling 19 yards into the Crestview end zone for the Eagles' second score of the game that drew Niceville back in, cutting a 14-point halftime deficit in half, and helping to establish Niceville's momentum that ultimately carried the team to their second half victory.

Twin Cities Hospital Scholar-Athlete of the Week - #21 Alex Alford - Another young Eagles defensive player with yet another solid performance at defensive back and holder for Andrew Mitchell's place kicks. A consistent performer in his first varsity season, and a solid student in the classroom as well.

Woody's Hog Heaven Barbeque & Grill Special Teams Player - #46 Steven Mayo - The junior linebacker made his mark on special teams with a bruising tackle of a Bulldog on a kickoff return that positioned Crestview inside their 10-yard line to begin a drive.

Oct 29th Players of the Week

Glass Doctor Offensive Player - #17 Andrew Mitchell - Once again, the sophomore demonstrated maturity and skills on different levels, including completing a 50 yard TD connection to Kyle McDorman as time expired in the second quarter; and solid special teams play, including kicking three extra points, launching four kickoffs for touchbacks and recovering two short kickoffs.

Niceville Insurance Agency Defensive Player - #55 Tyler Ross - Another solid sophomore, another stellar effort. The inside linebacker was tenacious on defense, making a number of solo tackles and assisting on others, against a very athletic and physical Tigers team.

Accent Signs Rising Eagle - #20 Joey Collins - Another week, another stepped-up effort from this talented junior defensive end who utilized strength and tenacity in tracking down - and bringing down - Tigers throughout the night.
